Description
During Rome’s era of brilliance, Caesar, with his extraordinary wisdom and ambition, changed the course of history. Though born into nobility, he rose to prominence in turbulent times. With sharp wit and boldness, the young Caesar entered the political arena and then claimed everlasting glory through his conquest of Gaul. Unsatisfied by military achievement alone, he returned to Rome, overcame his former ally Pompey in civil war, and became a peerless dictator. Caesar’s reforms revitalized Rome, but his immense power made the Senate fearful. On a spring morning, Caesar entered the Senate and faced only betrayal and steel. As he fell, it seemed as if fate whispered: “You achieved Rome’s splendor, but you could never flee the price of power.”
