Perseus, the hero of Greek mythology, famous for slaying Medusa and saving Andromeda, symbolizes courage and wisdom. With the help of the gods, Perseus receives instruction and equipment from Hermes and Athena, including a scimitar, a polished bronze shield, Hermes' flying sandals, Hades' invisible hat, and a magical bag. He found the Gray Sisters (Graeae) and forced them to tell him where the sisters Medusa and Gorgons were by taking an eye and a tooth they shared.
