Manto was a prophetess in Greek mythology, the daughter of Theiresias, king of Thebes. She inherited her father's prophetic powers and became a priestess of the temple of Apollo. She is said to have helped Agamemnon's descendants build a new city and to have guided their future with the wisdom of prophecy.
